Making homemade beef can be a delicious and satisfying experience. Here's a simple recipe to get you started:
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. beef (such as chuck roast or sirloin steak)
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1 tsp. dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
Add the beef and sear it on all sides until it is browned. This should take about 8-10 minutes.
Once the beef is browned, remove it from the pot and set it aside.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
Return the beef to the pot and add the beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the pot and place it in the preheated oven.
Cook for 2-3 hours, or until the beef is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.
Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the pot and shred it with a fork.
Serve the shredded beef with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
Enjoy your homemade beef!
